Bubs at Woodlands
Woodlands is a specialty independent running 3 Bay Area stores, small-format at about 2,336 sq ft each, indexing high on clean-organic versus other Bay Area grocers.
Bubs Naturals offers a range of health-focused products designed to support energy, hydration, and overall wellness.
Bubs isn’t on Woodlands’ shelf yet in any of its 3 stores. The opening: 2 categories where the shelf is already deep and the brand runs strong elsewhere.
Lead with Banana Toffee Sweet Ovals in Chewy Candy.
Woodlands stocks chewy candy thinly, so a differentiated snack stands out instead of becoming the Nth option on a crowded shelf. It already earns space at 1 other Bay Area grocer.
Woodlands carries sour candy in real depth, 24 SKUs against a fleet median of 10, so a new entry there is the Nth option, and its per-unit price would likely sit near the top of a crowded shelf. The more differentiated opening is chewy candy: Woodlands stocks only 9 there, so Bubs Banana Toffee Sweet Ovals stands out rather than blending in. Lead with the chewy candy, and position the sour candy as a finishing or gift item.
