Live at Woodlands
Woodlands is a specialty independent running 3 Bay Area stores, small-format at about 2,336 sq ft each, indexing high on clean-organic versus other Bay Area grocers.
Live Oil By Lesna offers a Certified Organic Walnut Oil made from raw, organic walnuts using a unique wooden cold-pressed method.
Live isn’t on Woodlands’ shelf yet in any of its 3 stores. The opening: 4 categories where the shelf is already deep and the brand runs strong elsewhere.
Lead with Root Beer Organic Soda in Root Beer.
Woodlands stocks root beer thinly, so a differentiated snack stands out instead of becoming the Nth option on a crowded shelf. It already earns space at 1 other Bay Area grocer.
Woodlands carries kombucha in real depth, 66 SKUs against a fleet median of 31, so a new entry there is the Nth option, and its per-unit price would likely sit near the top of a crowded shelf. The more differentiated opening is root beer: Woodlands stocks only 5 there, so Live Root Beer Organic Soda stands out rather than blending in. Lead with the root beer, and position the kombucha as a finishing or gift item.
