Reading the shelf…
Sprouts Farmers Market is a natural independent running 1 Bay Area store, mid-size at about 20,322 sq ft each, indexing high on clean-organic versus other Bay Area grocers.
Wholly Balls!: Wholly Balls offers a range of protein-packed snack bites crafted with clean ingredients to satisfy cravings and provide energy throughout the day.
Wholly Balls! isn’t on Sprouts Farmers Market’s shelf yet. The opening: 2 categories where the shelf is already deep and the brand runs strong elsewhere.
Lead with Rocky Roadie Protein Balls in Other Bakery Desserts.
Sprouts Farmers Market stocks other bakery desserts thinly, so a differentiated snack stands out instead of becoming the Nth option on a crowded shelf. It already earns space at 2 other Bay Area grocers.
Sprouts Farmers Market carries protein bars in real depth, 228 SKUs against a fleet median of 47, so a new entry there is the Nth option, and its per-unit price would likely sit near the top of a crowded shelf. The more differentiated opening is other bakery desserts: Sprouts Farmers Market stocks only 3 there, so Wholly Balls! Rocky Roadie Protein Balls stands out rather than blending in. Lead with the other bakery desserts, and position the protein bars as a finishing or gift item.
Sprouts Farmers Market merchandises 2 of the 2 categories the brand sells.
no strong clean/diet signal either way.

enters a thin other bakery desserts shelf as a point of difference.
