Lead with Cacio e Pepe Alfredo Pasta Sauce, Premium Ingredients in Alfredo Sauce.
Rainbow Grocery Cooperative stocks alfredo sauce thinly, so a differentiated snack stands out instead of becoming the Nth option on a crowded shelf. It already earns space at 2 other Bay Area grocers.
Rainbow Grocery Cooperative carries tomato based sauces in real depth, 96 SKUs against a fleet median of 44, so a new entry there is the Nth option, and its per-unit price would likely sit near the top of a crowded shelf. The more differentiated opening is alfredo sauce: Rainbow Grocery Cooperative stocks only 8 there, so Carbone Cacio e Pepe Alfredo Pasta Sauce, Premium Ingredients stands out rather than blending in. Lead with the alfredo sauce, and position the tomato based sauces as a finishing or gift item.
