Pizzeria Delfina at Rainbow Grocery Cooperative
Rainbow Grocery Cooperative is a member-owned co-op running 1 Bay Area store, large-format at about 36,996 sq ft each, indexing high on clean-organic versus other Bay Area grocers.
Pizzeria Delfina is a grocery brand specializing in prepared meals, particularly Neapolitan-inspired pizzas.
It’s already on the shelf here, with 2 SKUs across 1 category. The growth is depth and breadth: 1 category to widen and 2 new doors to enter.
Lead with Pizzeria Defina Napoletana Pizza in Frozen Pizzas.
Rainbow Grocery Cooperative stocks frozen pizzas thinly, so a differentiated snack stands out instead of becoming the Nth option on a crowded shelf. It already earns space at 7 other Bay Area grocers.
Rainbow Grocery Cooperative carries tomato based sauces in real depth, 96 SKUs against a fleet median of 44, so a new entry there is the Nth option, and its per-unit price would likely sit near the top of a crowded shelf.
Rainbow Grocery Cooperative merchandises 3 of the 3 categories the brand sells.
no strong clean/diet signal either way.
brand excitement 65/100.
